Rectangular desk in rosewood veneer, the belt decorated with porcelain plates with polychrome decoration of flowers in golden reserves, the fields with lapis blue background. It opens with two drawers in the belt and rests on cambered legs. Ornamented with chased and gilded bronzes such as espagnolette falls, key entries, framing friezes, lingotière, mascarons and sabots. Signed GRADE Ft Rue de la Paix, 23 Paris. Louis XV style, Napoleon III period. Havana leather top gilded with small irons. H. 79 cm. - L. : 130 cm. - D. : 76 cm. Installed from 1856 at 23, rue de la Paix in Paris, Louis Gradé participated in the London Exhibition of 1852 for which he obtained an honorable mention for an inlaid table.
