Small crossbow-shaped armoire with diamond latticework inlay, opening with two doors. Ornamented with rocaille ormolu. Stamped A. Beurdeley in Paris. Late 19th century. H. 144 - W 88 - D 60 cm. (oxidation of the bronze ornaments). The Beurdeleys represent one of the most illustrious luxury furniture dynasties of the 19th century. Since 1840, the Beurdeleys have set up shop at 32, rue Louis-le-Grand in the Pavillon du Hanovre (former home of the Maréchal de Richelieu). Emmanuel Alfred succeeded his father in 1875, but the company name remained unchanged. Gold medallist at the Amsterdam International Exhibition in 1883, Alfred II Beurdeley became a member of the Jury at the 1889 Paris Exhibition.
